Mini-Mine
For ages 8+
The Mini-Mine comes in a repurposed hand-decorated box and contains:
~ One bag of genuine Herkimer diamond mine dirt sprinkled with a variety of earthly treasures.
~ A hand-crafted sifting screen
~ Small flashlight
~ A purple organza draw-string bag
~ Plastic containers
IMPORTANT INFO:
Please exercise caution as the dirt may contain sharp stones.
* We recommend young children be under adult supervision while mining.
* Do NOT use water! The screen provided is not designed for sluicing. Much of the dirt is very fine dry silt, adding water to it will result in a muddy mess! It is recommended that water only be used to rinse and identify stones AFTER they have been separated from the dirt.
* Because the dirt provided comes from a herkimer diamond mine in Central N.Y., be sure to carefully comb through the silty-dirt after initial siftings because tiny micro crystals will likely be present for you to rescue with small fingers or tweezers if so desired.
